The Veri-Chip

Case II: Veri-Chip / Precursor to the Mark of the Beast?

Veri-Chip is a miniaturized, implantable radio frequency identification device (RFID) that has the potential to be used in a variety of security, financial, and other applications. About the size of a grain of rice, each Veri-Chip product contains a unique verification number and will be available in several formats. The verification number is captured by briefly passing a proprietary scanner over the Veri-Chip. A small amount of radio frequency energy passes from the scanner energizing the dormant Veri-Chip, which then emits a radio frequency signal transmitting the verification number.

How VeriChip Works

An implantable, 12mm by 2.1mm radio frequency device, Veri-Chip is about the size of the point of a typical ballpoint pen. It contains a unique verification number. Utilizing an external scanner, radio frequency energy passes through the skin energizing the dormant Veri-Chip, which then emits a radio frequency signal containing the verification number. The number is displayed by the scanner and transmitted to a secure data storage site by authorized personnel via telephone or Internet. In the financial arena, the company sees enormous, untapped potential for Veri-Chip as a personal verification technology that could help to curb identity theft and prevent fraudulent access to banking (especially via ATMs) and credit card accounts. Veri-Chip’s tamper-proof, personal verification technology would provide banking and credit card customers with the added protection of knowing their accounts could not be accessed unless they themselves initiated — and were physically present during — the transaction.

In the security field, the company is actively developing applications for Veri-Chip in a variety of security, defense, homeland security and secure-access applications. These opportunities include using Veri-Chip to control authorized access to government installations and private-sector buildings, nuclear power plants, national research laboratories, correctional facilities, and sensitive transportation resources. Veri-Chip can enhance airport security, airline security, cruise ship security, intelligent transportation and port congestion management. In these markets, Veri-Chip could function as a stand-alone, tamper-proof personal verification technology or it could operate in conjunction with other security technologies such as standard ID badges and advanced biometric devices (i.e. retina scanners, thumbprint readers or face recognition devices).

The Company recently unveiled VeriPass(tm) and Veri-Tag(tm), which will allow airport and port security personnel to link a Veri-Chip subscriber to his or her luggage (both during check-in and on the airplane), flight manifest logs and airline or law enforcement software databases. The concept of using Veri-Chip as a means for secure access could also be extended to include a range of consumer products such as PCs, laptops, cars, cell phones, and even homes and apartments.

The Scriptures

According to the Scriptures, the “mark of the beast” is received on the right hand or forehead. With modern technology, it is very possible that this mark may be directly linked with a computer chip. But regardless if it is or isn’t, everyone who is living immediately before the return of Christ will be forced to take this mark in order to buy or sell anything: Rev. 13:16-18, “He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666 .”

But this mark, which will be universally issued around the entire world, MUST NOT be received under any circumstances, even by Christians! Scripture goes on to say: Rev. 14:9-12,”A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: ‘If ANYONE worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name. This calls for patient endurance on the part of THE SAINTS who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus’ .”

As the mark will definitely be issued one day, as Scripture declares, the eternal destiny for all who receive that mark will also be in accordance with Scripture! Do not be deceived about this. If you are a Christian, you MUST NOT take this mark or you, too, will miss the kingdom of God and suffer eternal torment over this single act of disobedience, according to Scripture! If the popular teaching of eternal security (also known as the perseverance of the saints) was true, Rev. 14:9-12 would be an impossibility! So don’t be deceived by the teaching of eternal security. You must endure to the end to be saved (Matt. 10:22; Heb. 3:14; Rev. 2:10,11).
